About
We help nonprofits find the security grants they qualify for — and write the application.
I've spent recent years working with hundreds of U.S. nonprofits on their security. The same problem kept coming up: security threats are growing faster than these mission-driven organizations can build the defenses to respond, and the federal and state grant programs designed to help are buried in paperwork most nonprofits never get a clean answer on. I built SecurityGrants.com to fix that — free to find the grants you qualify for, with an optional AI grant-writing assistant that helps you write the application for a fraction of what a professional charges, and straightforward about what it can and can't do.

How does it work?
- 1
Check eligibility — free
Tell the eligibility assistant about your nonprofit in a short chat — state, 501(c)(3) status, the type of threat your organization faces, a couple of state-specific gates. We match you against every grant in our catalog and show which ones you qualify for, with dollar amounts and deadlines.
- 2
Prepare your requirements
Pick the grants you'd like to pursue. We open your grant-writing assistant: one deduplicated checklist of every document and registration you need across all selected grants — IRS letter, SAM.gov UEI, threat assessment, Investment Justification narrative, budget worksheet, board resolution. Track what you have, what you're working on, and what you need help with.
- 3
Write your application with AI
Unlock the AI grant-writing assistant — a paid tool that costs a fraction of a professional grant writer's fee. It asks a few plain-English questions, then helps you write each section of your application, grounded in proven NSGP structure. You review, edit, and submit on your timeline.

Find security vendors
Optional · After your awardOnce you're funded, our directory will help you find security vendors in your state — for cameras, access control, hardened windows and doors, perimeter, alarms, training, contract security, and everything else the grant pays for. Optional, free for nonprofits.
What you can expect
- ✓An honest assessment. If a grant isn't a match, we tell you why and what (if anything) could change that for the next cycle.
- ✓Plain English over jargon. Federal grant language is dense. We translate so you can actually use it.
- ✓No data selling.Your email is used only for what you signed up for — deadline reminders, new grants added to the catalog. We don't sell, rent, or share.
How we keep data current
Funding amounts, deadlines, and eligibility rules change every fiscal year. We monitor FEMA's NOFOs and each State Administrative Agency's page, and update the catalog as cycles open and close. If you spot something out of date, email us — we'll fix it and credit you in the changelog.
