The federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program funds target-hardening for at-risk nonprofits nationwide and is administered in Virginiaby the state's State Administrative Agency (SAA). There are two streams:
Federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program — Urban Area
Federal physical security funding for nonprofits inside FEMA-designated high-risk urban areas.
Federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program — State
Federal physical security funding for nonprofits outside high-risk urban areas.
The Urban-Area (NSGP-UA) stream applies to nonprofits in Virginia's designated high-risk urban areas — including Washington DC National Capital Region, Norfolk / Hampton Roads. Nonprofits elsewhere in Virginia apply through the State (NSGP-S) stream. Confirm your area with your SAA.
